Professor O.I. Redkin won the award “For pedagogical skills”

A.D. Knysh spoke at the meeting of the Academic Council of SPSU

On December 23, 2013 A.D. Knysh spoke at the meeting of the Academic Council of St. Petersburg State University with a scientific report: “Political Islam and Islamism: theory and practice in comparative and historical perspective”.

Seminar, December 19th

The Seminar was held under the supervision of prof. Alexander D. Knysh in person on December 19th, 2013 at 16:00.

Conference “Islam in Russia: Science and Education”

On 19 – 20 of December, 2013 the conference “Islam in Russia: Science and Education” took place. It was organized by the State Museum of Hermitage. Members of the Laboratory participated in the Conference and A.D. Knysh made ​​a presentation on the objectives and tasks of the Laboratory.

III International Forum “Islam in multicultural world”

The Head of Laboratory A.D. Knysh participated as a speaker and moderator in the III International Forum “Islam in multicultural world: “Muslim movements and mechanisms of reproduction of Islamic ideology in the Contemporary Information Environment”. The Forum was held from 13 to 17 November, 2013 in Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan).

Seminar, November 7th

The Seminar for undergraduate and graduate students who are also engaged in the work of the Laboratory took place on November 7th at 18:00, in the auditorium №175. The on-line seminar was conducted by the principal investigator Alexander D. Knysh. Participants of the seminar discussed a project work schedule.

The Faculty of Asian and African Studies won mega-grant competition in St. Petersburg State University.

Following a competition research, conducted under the guidance of the leading scientists, the Faculty of Asian and African Studies application “Research Laboratory for Analysis and Modeling of Social Processes: Political Islam/Islamism: Theory and Practice in Comparative and Historical Perspective” under the leadership of Alexander D. Knysh, Professor of the University of Michigan has received support. The first Seminar has already been held on October 18th in the regime of a videoconference. In the course of this on-line session the principal investigator and participants of the project discussed a plan of the future cooperation.
